Fireside Pizza Review.
Met my friend Jake here for lunch and boy had I been anticipating this lunch. I love this place’s food. The fire they cook it with makes all the difference. I work around the corner and I think this pizza is best experienced in the location. The restaurant is a renovated firehouse (So appropriate) where they keep the doors open to the street. I love the location and I believe they have breathed new life into the area. Talk about right up this Architect’s alley! The space is great, but the food is even better. They keep it so simple and I appreciate that. The menu isn’t huge, but every item is executed well. We started with the Caesar salad, and typically I pass on most restaurant’s anchovies , but I was feeling brave. It added a great flavor and it wasn’t the offensive taste I have experienced in most restaurants. It seemed like they have struck the right balance of salty, tart flavor that complimented the salad.
Our pizza came right out after and I dug into the pesto with pepperoni. Their pesto is so good and even though I probably was full about half way through, I pushed through to eat the entire pizza. I couldn’t let that goodness go to waste! My friend Jake provided entertainment as well, its always great to catch up with an old friend and hear more about their going’s on over a great meal. Great food, awesome laid back atmosphere. A Cincinnati Gem.
