Igby’s Food review.
I was invited to Igby’s to check out their new plates menu. It has been a while since I’d visited so it was nice to stop in and see what has changed. This place is so very sexy, even in the day time. I decided to eat on the outdoor patio. I’d been cooped up inside long enough. The place was pretty packed out for a Thursday, and there were a couple of private parties as well. This would be the perfect location for a swanky get together with friends, I should know: this was one of the stops for my bachelorette party!
I had my eye on the calamari, so I ordered that with the lettuce wraps and a club soda. My waitress was so sweet, so even though my meal was free, she took great care of me. I really enjoyed the lettuce wraps, they had rice and wonderfully seasoned chicken inside with a great sriracha aioli. It was spicy, but not overly so. Which is my jam. I want my food flavorful, not hot enough to burn my lips off! They were a bit messy, so if you’re on a first date, use a fork, lol! The calamari was epic. It was hand breaded and fried to a golden perfection and served with a lemon and sriracha aioli. It was so light and delicious I did not want to stop eating them. The basket was a great sharable size. Overall these were great light appetizers to share between a few people. The space is great, I can now say the food is great and I can’t wait to return w/ a few of my peeps to share this space with!
A new addition to my Cincinnati Gems and a highly recommended unique spot to check out downtown.
