My cousin recommended this spot while we were on vacation in Tarpin Springs, FL. I’m so glad she did. This was by far my favorite meal the entire time we were there. Florida isn’t known for its soul food, so this was a pleasant surprise. It didn’t help that I was starving when we went, but the food was amazing!
We ordered a bunch of food to share, the french toast, the chicken and waffles, and the shrimp and grits. Everything was cooked well and so flavorful. The french toast came topped with fresh berries and was nice and crisp. The chicken and waffles were well seasoned and fried well. The waffle had a great crunch.
The shrimp and grits was the star for me. Creamy and delicious with a ton of fresh shrimp. It came with a huge buttery biscuit. It was amazing, and perfect for sopping up the grits. My teenage cousin (a picky eater) was prompted to try them and she liked them and came back for seconds!
Match with the ability to eat outside and drink all the coffee I could handle in the middle of what’s normally winter to me, this was a great find and I will definitely be back on my next trip to Tarpin Springs!
