Just Q’in Review
I’ve been waiting for this place to open. I work in Walnut Hills and this place is within walking distance of my office. I stopped in for lunch and quickly fell in love with the decor. It’s a clean mixture of reclaimed wood, brick and metal that makes you want to hang out forever. I had my eye on a brisket sandwich, mostly because I knew I’d only eat half and I could share the rest with my husband who loves brisket & if he likes this sandwich, then its certified. I ordered mac & cheese to go with. My total was about $9. Not too pricey, but enough that I remember thinking, this better be good, lol!
Back in my office I was surprised to find that they had cut the brisket in huge chunks instead of slicing it. I felt like it would make the sandwich impossible to eat, so I cut them down. It was so tender I could slice it with a butter knife. Once I had it all sliced down, I didn’t even need all the meat they had given me, lol! It was really good, smokey and tender and the sauce has the right amount of kick. The mac & cheese is good. Its not baked like I expected, but I’m a mac & cheese snob, so if I liked it, that’s saying a lot. Overall a great lunch. I took my half sandwich home to my Mr and he really liked it. He hasn’t been pleased with a brisket sandwich since we moved back from St Louis, so for him to be impressed blew me away. Next trip, I’m checking out the smoked wings!
