So I stopped into this place during my trip to Findlay Market Sunday because I’ve been wanting to check it out. I am on a quest to stop eating so much sugar and part of that is changing the sweets I eat. No more crap chocolate, bring on the good stuff! I loved how you could sample their different flavors and they had some interesting flavors: dominican republic, Morropon, Belize, Prohibition. Most were dark chocolate or had a percent that were dark chocolate. Even though there were a ton to sample, because they are so rich, there’s really only so much you can try. My favorite was the Prohibition by a mile. It had a touch of sweetness, with a bold dark chocolate taste and a bit of salt to balance it all out.
I love that they had a cocoa bean to look at. The gentleman was very knowledgable about their product and about chocolate in general. I feel very disconnected from where chocolate comes from. Only recently did I watch a documentary that showed not only where it came from, but how they sowed the beans and highlighted that the people who farm it, often have no idea what is even done with the beans. That blew my mind.
Great experience from an amazing host!
