Redondo Taqueria Tasting Review

Redondo Taqueria Tasting Review

I received an invite for a VIP tasting at Redondo Taqueria.  I have never been to this restaurant, and felt like this was the best time to try it out: when I could eat for free and sample a bunch of different options.  All restaurants should do tastings, especially when they are revamping the menu!  Many thanks to the good folks at Redondo for inviting me and for dinner!

It is great to be able to share the perks of being a Food Blogger with my Husband and he really enjoyed being treated like royalty by the staff!  We started out trying to eat more then just a taste of each and started to fill up too soon!  Everything we ate was so good.  I appreciated the way they took a certain item and made it with a fresh twist.  That way you know that when you come to this restaurant, you’re getting their interpretation of a dish.  More importantly, it is unique to this restaurant and sets them apart from the competition!

I loved the set up of the bar area we sat in.  It had a variety of seating styles, with smaller more intimate tables mixed in with huge tables for tons of people to socialize.  I think that’s the key to attracting all sorts of people.  The food was fresh and original and was made with a lot of care.  I enjoyed every part of my experience!

Here was the menu:

My favorite items by far were the fry bread taco:thumb_IMG_6069_1024

and the Inside out Tamales: so unique and amazing!  That sauce was so very good thumb_IMG_6061_1024

The chips and salsa were delicious, the guacamole actually won over my husband who typically isn’t a fan of it.  His favorite item on the menu though, was the pineapple salsa.  It was so refreshing and heartier then expected.  I would love to have the recipe!

I loved the white sangria!  It was sweet, but not overwhelmingly.  The rim had sugar on it and it was a great!  I’d love to know what was in that amazing drink!

Loved the tortilla soup: my Mr doesn’t care for soup, but agreed this was spot on!  The sour cream made all the difference.

I loved the black beans and refried beans also.  They were excellent mixed together.

Lastly: Great Atmosphere!
